Student Leadership
Student Council is a group of student leaders who meet regularly to collaborate on student-led activities and initiatives. Student council creates a fun and competitive environment to positively impact the FMT community. You’ll meet different peers from all grade levels with different sets of skills and opinions. You’ll learn how to effectively collaborate with others and use teamwork to guide you in your decision-making. If you have great ideas to share and would like your voice heard, this is the club for you!
Ambassadors
If you are currently in Grade 8 and looking for leadership opportunities at the school, please consider applying to be a part of our grade 9 Ambassadors next year! Our Ambassadors at FMT are involved in a number of school activities, including welcoming the new grade 7 students during orientation, mentoring them, and organizing opportunities for them to bond throughout the year. They promote our school’s mission of being a family and looking out for each other. Our grade 9 Ambassadors know that as the oldest students at FMT, they are role models who can set the tone that would determine our school culture; their aim is to create a culture that is welcoming to all. They also have the unique opportunity to attend the No Stone Left Alone event for Remembrance Day. Applications for Ambassadors begin in June, and applicants are selected by August.
Social Justice
The Social Justice Team is responsible for starting a conversation between students, teachers, and the community on the inequalities of the world. The Social Justice Team strives to spread fairness to all aspects of society as everyone deserves equal economic, political, and social rights and opportunities. As acts of charity are a vital teaching of the Church, this could look like spreading awareness, running fundraisers, hosting bake sales, or collaborating with outside agencies. Being part of this team will help you acquire skills and knowledge to be aware of your responsibility to advocate for social change.
